Bellfields Community Choir

The free-range choir that loves to sing

What to expect

We’re the Bellfields Community Choir, and we welcome anyone who wants to give their vocal chords a workout in a relaxed and informal environment. Whether you’ve sung in a choir before or if this is your first time, come join us!

What we do:

  • Sing all kinds of songs, from traditional African to sea shanties to pop and rock.
  • Learn by ear – you don’t need to be able to read music.
  • Love singing, have fun, drink tea.
  • Sing any part we like, so if you want to squawk with the sopranos or bellow with the basses or croon anywhere in between, just do it! We’re a free range choir.
  • Sing for loads of different audiences.

What we don’t do:

  • Audition
  • Wear choiry clothes like black skirts and white tops. We’re very informal. But we do wear clothes, generally.

What to bring:

  • Yourself.
  • Your voice.
  • Some money. Pay what you can afford. Most of us pay six quid a week. Some of us pay less. Some of us pay for the term in advance. It’s your call.
  • 20p for a cuppa or, if you’re living on the edge, a hot Ribena. You have to have an asbestos mouth, though, because we only get a 15 minute tea break. Outrage!

We’d especially love some more blokes so that we can balance our sound.
